Check out this SAW.   After a few hours in the classroom learning about fine cabinet construction, John Wellborn took us and our fellow remodelers to see their state of the art sawmill.

The sawmill is the first step in Wellborn Cabinet's total quality focus on cabinet manufacturing and distribution.

Tomorrow John Wellborn will show us around the manufacturing plant where the lumber will be turned into a multitude of cabinet styles.

See photos of the Wellborn sawmill tour and check back for more photos of the manufacturing plant.

Things are moving fast. We are in the middle of remodeling our office and now it's time to take a weekend trip to visit the Wellborn Cabinet manufacturing plant in Alabama.

We were recently approached by the Wellborn Cabinet Company to become one of their Premier Authorized Contractors. Included with access to the complete line of Wellborn Cabinets, we will have the full use and services of Adam's Brothers Interiors showrooms and design services.

Adam's Brothers has three showroom across the valley to help serve our clients with their various selection needs during the remodeling process.

They will offer our clients great service and access to numerous designer brands of flooring, cabinetry and window coverings.

This will give us the opportunity to give our clients better service without additional overhead.

I will be sharing additional info on our trip to see the Wellborn facilities. I'm sure it will be interesting to see how they start with raw timber and handle everything from milling the lumber to creating fine cabinetry for homeowners across the country.

Thanks to the addition of Tri-Lite Builders, we are remodeling our office. We have just started by having our demolition crew tear out my office to create our new more open floor-plan.

The results of the demolition are great. Our space is now more open with sunlight brightening up the entire space.

The complex manager thought we were crazy for tearing out walls that we had just finished refurbishing. I'm sure he will come around when he sees the finished results.

I just received a link to the spring online issue of Renovation Style. It's an interesting publication put out by Better Homes and Gardens with input from my  National Association of the Remodeling Industry.

It has articles about many aspects of remodeling from allover the country. I enjoyed the articles about 8 Handy iPad Apps and Outdoor Apparel. The first article would be interesting if you might like iPad apps for remodeling the second illustrated an attractive remodel of a classic ranch home with modern flavor and a great entertaining area in the back yard.
The home was in Denver, but it would work well in the Phoenix area.

Last night at the monthly meeting of my Greater Phoenix NARI Chapter, I was presented with my new universal design professional certification.

I joined the National Association of the Remodeling Industry five years ago in order to take advantage of their advanced professional training in building science and remodeling.

In that time I have not only become a Green Certified Professional, they have also allowed me to lead their organization as this years President. I am honored and grateful for the continued opportunity for my personal and professional growth.

Universal Design is NARI's newest area of remodeling education and certification. As of today I am the only Arizona remodeler to have been recognized by NARI as either a Green Certified Professional or a Universal Design Certified Remodeler.

By investing the time and energy into NARI's Universal Design Certified Remodeler education we will be able to include even more focus on the unique needs of each client. The application of Universal Design is most obvious when homeowners have special needs, but it's concepts apply across the broad range everyday life of all of our clients.

Just like my Green Certified Professional designation has not made our work more expensive, The Universal Design Certified Remodeler designation will only increase our professional value and service to our clients. I look forward to bringing these qualities to our clients in Phoenix and it' surrounding communities of Scottsdale. Tempe, Chandler Ahwatukee, Gilbert, Glendale an Mesa.
