We're polishing up the final details on our freestanding garage project. The following video illustrates all of the features that were included in order to complement the original Frank Lloyd Wright Boomer House.

The stone for the exterior wall detail proved to be one of the most elusive details of the project. The stone showing in the walls of the original Boomer House were no doubt gathered from the nearby countryside. Today it is illegal to gather stone from anywhere other than your own property or a stone quarry. We were looking for flat stones that would complement the Boomer House's original rusty colored stones. After numerous trips to the stone yard to check for the right color and size we finally were rewarded with stones that the owner was happy with for their match.

The new glass and aluminum garage doors are in and working great. The owner is enjoying his new storage and inside parking.

We're having a great time building this unique garage that was designed to complement the original Boomer house designed and built by Frank Lloyd Wright in the Biltmore area of Phoenix.

The drywall work is almost done and the custom glass garage doors should be ready for instillation by mid January 2012.

<![CDATA[Boomer House Is Not For Sale]]>Sun, 30 Sep 2012 17:48:58 GMThttp://www.homeworkremodels.net/1/post/2012/09/boomer-house-is-not-for-sale.htmlPicture

While we were visiting the David & Gladys Wright home this morning, Alison King of Modern Phoenix asked if the Boomer House was for sale. We quickly realized that someone had mistaken our job sign for a "For Sale" sign.

We are in the midst of building a free standing garage for all the cars that are continuously parked in front of the Boomer house built by Frank Lloyd Wright. There is no doubt that the Boomer House owner is very invested in investing in the future of his unique home and living in it long term.

I would like to thank Alison and Mathew King for sharing these photos of our discussion group at the Modern Phoenix Mid Century Modern Home Expo recently.
I was honored to be part of the panel led by architect Taz Loomans discussing sustainable home energy improvements in the valley's older and mid century modern homes.

I would also like to thank everyone in attendance, and the other participants, for their warm reception to my presentation.

<![CDATA[2012 ForzaStone Bathroom Trends ]]>Fri, 02 Mar 2012 17:26:51 GMThttp://www.homeworkremodels.net/1/post/2012/03/2012-forzastone-bathroom-trends.html
So far this year we have been getting an unusually high number of calls for remodeling bathrooms and all of them focused on new and enlarged showers.

At least half of these homeowners are interested in ForzaStone, the state of the art stone panel system.

We're very excited with the resulting beautiful showers and tub surrounds that can be done for not much more than a tiled shower.

Homeowners are impressed with the beauty and the lack of grout to keep clean. They also like that just like stone counter tops, each ForzaStone panel is unique resulting in a one of a kind creation.
