Laminate Counter Top
I love product 'look-a-likes".  Not only do they cost less, more often than not, but the product looks just as great and wears well over time.  Here we have a great substitute for stone and petrified wood counter tops.

Formica has a product to emulate the look of stone slab and petrified wood.  The 180fx series laminate shows off a large format and advanced printing, accentuated with coordinating matte, satin, and polished finishes give the appearance of a realistic texture. The surfacing is available in seven new designs.

This just might be the countertop product you are longing for in your kitchen or bathroom.  If so, let us help you start designing your next remodel using Formica!

If you are like me, I avoid having to look far into the back of my sink base cabinet.  You just don't know what lingers there... a possible slow leak or grimy spill from dish soap.

Merillat Classic cabinetry has made available a product that is designed to address minor spills and plumbing leaks.  It's called a CoreGuard Sink Base.  With the exception of the cabinet’s face, frame and door assembly, all the wood and wood-based materials were replaced with an engineered polymer material, making the product easy to clean and maintain.

After your newly remodeled kitchen cabinetry has been installed, this type of product gives you added piece of mind in protecting your newly remodeled investment.  But don't just take my work for it, take a look at the video below.

This is one of the ways you can go to get your home super 'green'.  A solar-hot-water heater is a great way to start contributing to our country's energy use crisis.

FAFCO solar hot water systems are designed to operate automatically, gathering the sun's energy when available. When solar energy is unavailable, the system turns itself off and the hot water is stored in your water tank until it is needed.

The hot-water system includes a custom-designed digital solar controller, heat exchanger and pumps.  All this is incorporated into a single, compact unit that installs easily on the water heater tank or wall.

If you are looking to go solar there are many options and this is a great solution.  Let us help you start designing your next 'green' home remodeling project.

Humidity Sensing Switch
Ever forget to turn on the bathroom vent fan before taking a hot shower?  I have and then trying to finish getting ready in the humidity is not such an enjoyable experience.  Today we're sharing a ventilation fan that does the remembering for you!

The WhisperControl humidity and temperature sensor anticipates condensation and automatically turns on the Panasonic ventilation fan. Unlike traditional sensors, which turn fans on in response to a rapid rise in humid air and therefore could cause them to switch on unnecessarily in certain climate zones, the maker says, this wall-mounted unit detects hot air and humidity based on dew point. The two models—the FV-WCCS1 and the FV-WCCS2—feature a blue LED light and a manual on/off switch and come in white or almond; the FV-WCCS2 also includes a manual on/off light switch.

This is a simple solution and makes a big difference in a humid bathroom.  So if you have a pet peeve about getting ready in a humid bathroom, we suggest you considering this smart product that does the remembering for you.  It would make your morning routine a tad bit more comfortable.

Heat Pump
This is a great post, especially during these hot summer months in Phoenix.  When remodeling, one of the most important things to improve is the HVAC.  Why upgrade?  To save money on utility cost in the long run, of course, and well, it just makes sense to make this important change so that you can truly appreciate your new remodel.

Carrier has recently come out with a unit featuring Greenspeed intelligence shown here.  The company’s latest Infinity heat pump offers an industry leading HSPF heating efficiency rating of up to 13 along with cooling efficiency up to 20 SEER. According to the firm, the unit’s variable-speed scroll compressor provides consistent indoor temperatures while conserving energy. The line includes capacities from 2 to 5 tons.

If you really want to enjoy all the new renovations in your remodeled home you'll really want to consider upgrading that old unit.  You won't regret it!

This faucet adds a simple touch but adds an extravegant amount of style and charactor to a modern kitchen remodel.

Acrylic Block Awning Windoe
This is a great idea for homes with limited window space.  Acrylic block operable awning windows make the most out of home designs with fewer window openings and provide light, privacy and fresh air while adding long-lasting style and value to any home.

With the Hy-Lite line of operable Decorative Glass Windows, homeowners can select from operable casement or awning windows in American, Craftsman, Euro, Euro Blue, Brilliance Wrought Iron and Spring Flower styles. The combined aspect of easy-open windows and Energy Star qualified energy efficiency options on many of these windows make them a choice for bathrooms, kitchens, hallways and bedrooms.

When designing a kitchen or bathroom remodel with limited window openings, these are a great option, especially here in Phoenix.  It's a great way to enjoy the wonderful weather we have 8 months of the year!

Glazed Kitchen Cabinets
If you are considering replacing your old cabinets for newer cabinets... take a look at this first.

The Cinnabar wet glaze finish by Decora can be painted over existing cabinets.  It works with wood’s natural beauty to expose variation in tone while highlighting the natural texture. The warm reddish-brown glaze shades darker on bold wood such as alder and appears lighter on cherry and maple, a variety that can provide a unique accent to a room or work as a neutral complement to a variety of room elements. The glaze is shown here on Willshire maple cabinets alongside the Bombay island.

So if you want a fresh new look in your bathroom or kitchen, maybe think about refurbishing your old cabinets first, before replacing them.  Give us a call and we'll give you our experienced option on whether this is a good idea for your next kitchen or bathroom remodel.
