White Tile Floor

The flooring was one of the things that was totally wrong with our original kitchen.

The historic style flooring was special ordered and hand made in Mexico.

The tile is one half inch tick, made of concrete with a unique bonded marble finish creating the unique color and pattern.

The concrete tiles have been used in fine homes in the southwest since the Spanish colonized Mexico and the southwest.

Installing the new half-inch thick tile to match the surface height of the adjoining wood floor was one of our largest challenges.

We removed several layers of tile and wood in order to create room for the tile and a half inch thick mortar bed base for the new tile.

The rug pattern in the new tile required design creativity both for appearance and layout in the space.

The final design of the "rugs" required an onsite layout to tweak the design to fit the available space in the kitchen.
