Refaced Kitchen Cabinets
Cost Effective Kitchen Renewal
Our homeowners had just bought this home in a beautiful central Phoenix neighborhood. They were very happy to find a home that would work for their growing family. They could see that the home was in move-in condition except for one thing. They hated the out dated laminated kitchen cabinets, butcher block, and Corian counter tops. What they wanted was the warmth of wood cabinets complemented by solid surface granite counter tops.
After buying the home, all new kitchen and dining area cabinets were not going to fit into their budget. Our solution was to reuse the majority of the existing cabinets by refacing the cabinets with new doors and drawer fronts. We renewed the mechanics of the cabinets and drawers with new drawer glides and hinges. We also added a built in trash cabinet to hide the trash can and sliding shelves in the pantry for accessibility.
We were pleased that we were able to locate a great buy on the new granite counter tops to set the new look off while maintaining our budget.
I think you will enjoy seeing the following collection of outdated before and great looking after photos. Click any of the photos for a larger view.

New owners called for a new look and functionality for this outdated kitchen in central Phoenix. Our clients wanted the warmth of natural wood to replace utilitarian style, white laminated cabinets, and the worn butcher block counter tops.
Our goal was to minimize the cost of this kitchen remodel while creating maximum value to our clients. We replaced a minimum number of the cabinets for practical reasons such as relocating the microwave to its new location over the stove.
We were able to unify both the kitchen and the dining area counter tops with the great buy we made on this solid surface granite counter top. Previously the lower kitchen counters were butcher block. The breakfast counter was the pictured green and white Corian solid surface top, and the dining area had a tiled counter top to round out the previous look.
The after photo on the right also shows the built in look for the refrigerator and the updated pantry cabinets.

The addition of a built-in trash cabinet eliminates the need for the previous trash can in the traffic pattern.
Adding new doors and drawer fronts coupled with the new granite counter tops made this kitchen an inviting part of their new great room that includes both the family room and spacious dining area.
We replaced the worn out shelving and reversed the door swing to create more comfortable access to the refaced pantry.
The new granite composite sink and designer faucet set off our updated kitchen. The photo on the left shows the dining area cabinets with new faces and matching counter tops.
The original dining area cabinets were not as cold looking as the kitchen cabinets, but they were also ready to be renewed with new fronts, drawer glides and hinges.. We replaced the doors and added the granite counter-top to unify the look in this great-room style family room. Click on these photos for a larger view to appreciate the improvements.
Another attractive feature of this kitchen remodel included creating this built-in look for the refrigerator and the unified look of the refurbished pantry.
